On MyCamper, owners have the flexibility to determine the deposit amount themselves. This deposit serves as a security measure and is not necessarily required to match the deductible amount, but we recommend it, especially if you use your own comprehensive insurance. If a claim arises, the owner will retain the deposit until the claim gets approved. The deposit can be held for a maximum of 60 days.
For damages covered by Omocom or Baloise insurance, the owner will refund the deposit once the insurance coverage is confirmed. Baloise will directly charge the deductible to the renter. If the vehicle is covered by the owner's insurance, the deposit is typically held to cover the deductible. If the damage cost is less than the deductible amount, the deposit will be refunded.
In cases where the kilometer limit specified in the rental agreement is exceeded or the vehicle is returned uncleaned, the deposit may be utilized to cover these additional costs.
